Night of Bliss South Africa with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

In just a matter of hours, it will be “kick-off” time for the Night of Bliss with the man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome at the Soccer City; as at the time of writing, the venue is almost jammed. I am not exaggerating!! This reminds me of what the man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome always says: the stadia of this world were not built for soccer or any other sporting event, they were built for preaching the gospel. In his home country Nigeria, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has used the biggest spaces available with same result – maximum capacity crowds to the point where people need to be turned back.

Here in South Africa, he has done it again and again…..sceptics said he couldn’t do it this time, not the soccer city they said, even the crowd of football fans from all over the world did not fill out the soccer city during the last world cup. Well, if you could come with me to the stadium now, the facts speak for themselves – it is almost packed out. Thank God the organizers anticipated this and made elaborate preparations for those who will not get into the venue – the sheer scale of their preparations lets you know the reach of this event.

As posted on the Official Website for the program:

1. All those who collected tickets must be at the stadium between 8am and 12noon.

2. Night of Bliss South Africa will be aired LIVE in the following national Television Stations

Kenya [Citizen TV]

Burundi [RTNB Radio and National Roadcaster]

Zambia [ZNBC]

Swaziland [Swazi TV]

Malawi [MBC TV]

Zimbabwe [ZBC TV]

Lesotho [Lesotho TV]

South Africa [Soweto TV] – please note that Soweto TV is on DSTV.

It will be LIVE on our station LoveworldSat; in this way most of our invitees can participate through the night.

Apart from this, it will be LIVE on the internet and at 91 Viewing Centers spread over 9 countries in Southern Africa; this does not include the numerous viewing centers in Nigeria and other parts of Africa and indeed all over the world wherever members of this great ministry are found. When addressing the brethren at the March LIVE broadcast of the monthly communion service tried to discourage them from travelling into South Africa because of the limited space available at the program venue – he encouraged them to hook up to the LIVE broadcast of the event instead.

Needless to say, it will be a harvest of miracles, the excitement and the expectation in the arena is palpable; you can tell that the many wheelchairs all over the arena will be left empty by morning, everyone in here knows that the very air in this place will become electrified with God’s presence once the program begins. And when the man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome mounts that stage…..hey! anything is possible. That’s why they came, that’s why they have been sitting and waiting patiently from as early as 7.00am – they know that Night of Bliss South Africa will be a celebration of miracles.

I have to go now…..but  I will be back after the event to share my thoughts, do hit the comment below and share your expectations and this night, follow me on Yookos for updates.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome – My HERO!!

pics 13july 08 082Have you ever met someone with all the answers to life’s most puzzling questions? Or one whose intelligence surpasses and astounds even the most sophisticated of the intelligentsia? Have you ever met someone who is love and truly in love with everyone? Have you ever met someone whose life is based on the truth and nothing but the truth?

Sounds like a smart ad for ‘the idyllic man’, better put up all your hopes on the latest high tech robotic gizmo. So think again before you ask the silly question, is this for real? Well the bad news is the ad is real and the good news is that this ‘someone’ is human-got flesh and blood. Sure sounds like the resume of God, but before I let the cat out of the bag, you need to ponder on this.

Before now, I was melancholic; I had neither role models, nor mentors and the likes, everyone just fit into the applecart-unimpressive. It wasn’t necessarily about being admirable; the human factor I guess subdues the glitz, glamour and all of the esteem that extols the individual and then again leaning on a school of thought which suggests that we all are humans and unique so in summary, no human being is indispensable. How right but wrong I was! Today I’m different, I have a hero and he isn’t an individual I had loved from the onset; I had looked at him from afar; wondering what he had to offer me like a customer contemplating the wares of a peddler. But thank goodness for terrestrial TV stations; in little or no time his face became a constant feature on prime TV schedules; a compelling force I must admit lured me to listen to what he had to say and lo I found a basket full of knowledge. Each time I heard him speak, the torrential flow of knowledge emanating from him seemed unintelligible to me. But as time progressed; all of the right reasons drew my world closer to his. Soon I understood that the word of God was the manual for living rather than the manual of religion like I was earlier taught.

My Role Model, Hero, Tutor, Counsellor, he is really God’s gift to my world. Anyone who could have moulded me in such a way that I’m so much of a lady is really worth listening to. A lot of people have different definitions of him but I call him my hero and he has proven himself over and over again.

My hero…..Pastor Chris Oyakhilome – the President of Believers’ LoveWorld Inc.

The Enigmatic Pastor Chris

At first glance, I thought this was a good one, you know it sounded like “The Charismatic Pastor Chris” or “The Energetic Pastor Chris” but upon closer examination…..an enigma is someone that is puzzling, ambiguous, or inexplicable; other synonyms are mysterious, perplexing. It doesn’t sound at all like the Pastor Chris we all know does it? It immediately reminds me of our Lord Jesus Christ and the religious leaders of His day, read this account from John9 [KJV]and note the interesting parallels:

Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, he is a prophet. But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight. And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: but by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue. Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner. He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples. We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes. Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing. They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
